That’s ONE millionaire. Imagine what all millionaires and billionaires could do for this country if they actually put their obscene wealth to practical use.
no offence but there is literally nothing morally wrong with cheating on tests/at school… it’s up there with piracy on the list of Crimes Everyone Is Convinced Are Wrong And Harmful But If You Actually Think About Them For 12 Seconds It’s Fine And You Definitely Should Commit Them At Some Point
Also nothing morally wrong with stealing from a big corp store (like walmart) or stealing money from a friend or family member who borrowed and never paid you back. Plus nothing morally wrong with getting revenge on someone who wronged you.
Please don’t steal from corporate stores.
You aren’t hurting corporate.
You are hurting the employees.
Because.
When comp loss goes up, the store profit is hurt and some bigwig far, far away tells your district to tighten down on hours. Because god forbid shareholders aren’t rolling in the fucking dough.
Suddenly, me, a low level manager, normally garanteed 39 hours per week, is getting 36 hours per week. 6 hours less per check. I make almost $15 an hour (10 years retail experience plus Rx certification), so that’s a little under $120 before taxes. I have a 2 year old son and that’s a week’s worth of groceries. You’re taking food out of my son’s mouth. No, sorry, out of mine, because he eats first. But, he only has a handful of clothes that fit. 3 sets of pajamas. He’s sleeping in just a diaper tonight because they’re all dirty and I’m too goddamn tired from my 10 hour shift to wash clothes.
Let’s go deeper than just my financial pain. Less hours for the store means less overlap for managers. One opens, one closes. No time to communicate because don’t you dare make us go over budget.
One cashier and one manager closing. Between handling money, subbing in the pharmacy when they’re overburdened, taking care of customers on the floor, being the only one working on the floor to put up truck, cleaning the bathrooms, taking out the trash, completing resets, and putting up the shit that customers leave all over the store, I’m fucking exhausted. I can’t get anything else done but there’s always something that needed to be done that fell to the wayside because there aren’t enough people working.
I’m a manager.
I’m a cashier.
I’m a sales floor associate.
I’m a janitor.
I’m a stocker.
I’m an inventory coordinator.
I’m a pharmacy technician.
I’m store security.
I’m a key carrier.
I have a bachelor’s degree. I actually do like my job in general and my store manager is the fucking bomb.
However, my official position is and will always be “fuck shoplifters.”
“There is a certain irony here, because many of the first werewolves to be outed in society from the 16th through the 18th centuries were actually women. Just as our American ancestors had their Salem Witch Trials, Europe had its Werewolf Trials, and a large number of the so-called “werewolves” tortured and burned at the stake were female. […]
In the 17th-century werewolf trials of Estonia, women were about 150 percent more likely to be accused of lycanthropy; however, they were about 100 percent less likely to be remembered for it.”
“Here’s also a pronounced lack of female werewolves in popular culture. Their near absence in literature and film is explained away by various fancies: they’re sterile, an aberration, or—most galling of all—they don’t even exist.Their omission from popular culture does one thing very effectively: It prevents us, and men especially, from being confronted by hairy, ugly, uncontrollable women. Shapeshifting women in fantasy stories tend to transform into animals that we consider feminine, such as cats or birds, which are pretty and dainty, and occasionally slick and wicked serpents. But because the werewolf represents traits that are accepted as masculine—strength, large size, violence, and hirsutism—we tend to think of the werewolf as being naturally male. The female werewolf is disturbing because she entirely breaks the rules of femininity.”
