Reasons it’s acceptable to headcanon Cullen as gray/ace or demiseuxal:
- In DAO if you select a dialogue option that leads him to describe your Amell or Surana he only mentions their confidence, thereby leading you to believe he’s noticing her personality over physical appearance. Perhaps he’s not sexually attracted to her but emotionally?
- He’s visibly uncomfortable when the Warden propositions him to the point of running away.
- He’s somehow able to survive being tortured by desire demons for weeks/months on end. Maybe he’s able to do so because the demons expect him to desire sex, but he doesn’t so that doesn’t work on him and he can see through all the tricks?
- Shows no sign of instigating any intimate relations or of having or wanting any relationships of that nature during his entire 6 year stay in Kirkwall.
- Is mildly uncomfortable at the prospect of going back to the Blooming Rose to ask questions for an investigation, but still completely respectful of the ladies who work there. Maybe he’s sex repulsed and doesn’t like going back into a place where y’know…it’s everywhere?
- IDK, you like the idea of him being on the ace spectrum because you identify with him and want that representation, so you’re going to headcanon away. Godspeed.
Reasons it’s unacceptable to headcanon Cullen as gray or ace:
- You hate him and the idea of him having sex disgusts you.
- If you do this
- congratulations
- you’ve equated asexuality with an undesirable trait that makes asexuals lesser than everyone else.
- and you’re a certified terrible individual
- *tosses confetti*
Wow, what an awesome headcanon! I shall adopt it and raise it and pay for its college tuition.
